  Biography

Leah Marie Francis has been published in a number of online zines including Runway News and wrote one of her first pieces for the beloved Honey Magazine. Ms. Francis opened up her own business styling for a few clients as a student at the Fashion Institute of Technology's School of Continuing and Professional Studies. Flexible in her approach she landed an opportunity to intern in the fashion closet at WWD after interning at Manhattan/Hampton File and Honey Magazine in the editorial department. When she asked an editor at Fairchild Media for some advice on choosing between styling and writing they responded, “ Why not do both?” Yes, why not. She was learning to define doesn't mean that you have to limit.

After WWD Francis went on to apprentice under the legendary Celebrity Fashion Stylist Debra Ginyard who has styled Destiny’s Child, Alicia Keys, and Lauren Hill. Ms. Ginyard helped usher these artists into the public eye during a make or break time in their careers. Francis herself has styled models from Ford, Supreme, Wilhelmenia and several small boutique agencies helping to promote their new talent. She also worked in the luxury women's department of Nordstrom in burgeoning Atlanta where she serviced their elite clientele and helped area Wardrobe Stylists select merchandise.

Francis also attended the Long Island University Program for the Gifted and Temple University's Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. She holds a baccalaureate in Language and Literature from SUNY at Old Westbury and a Master of Professional Studies in Fashion Marketing from LIM College. She has mentored several SUNY students who have attended the nation's top graduate schools. She resides in the New York Metropolitan area.
